Newsoms is a town in Southampton County, Virginia, United States.

As of the census[3] of 2000, there were 282 people, 124 households, and 77 families living in the town.

About 9.7% of families and 12.9% of the population were below the poverty line, including 11.8% of those under the age of eighteen and 24.4% of those 65 or over.
