North Benfleet is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Bowers Gifford and North Benfleet, in the Basildon district of Essex, England, located between the towns of Basildon to the west and South Benfleet to the east.
[2] Prior to 1066, North Benfleet was owned by King Harold, and transferred to William the Conqueror afterwards.
[4] Although it had fallen into disrepair after many years of disuse, it was returned to regular use in March 2013 by the Orthodox Church,[5] and now has weekly services.
The parish of "Bowers Gifford and North Benfleet" was formed on 1 April 2010.
