Werner Wolf was born on 21 June 1940,[1][2] the son of a tailor in Bad Grönenbach in the Allgäu region of Germany.
[3] In 1965, he began studies at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich where he concentrated in the interdisciplinary fields of theology, philosophy, and natural sciences (zoology, inorganic chemistry, and the history of astronomy).
