Noxapater, Mississippi

Noxapater was a stop on the Mobile, Jackson and Kansas City Railroad, built in 1890.

[3] In 1927, a mob of 1,000 white men, mostly from Louisville, lynched two African-Americans, Jim and Mark Fox.

The Foxes were accused of killing a white man who started a fight with them.

[6] According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.0 square mile (2.6 km2), all land.

The Town of Noxapater is served by the Louisville Municipal School District.
