Ocean was built in 1808 at Whitby, England, that once carried settlers to South Africa and twice transported convicts to Australia.
[3] Lloyd's Register (LR) for 1818 showed Ocean with Remington, master, Attys, owner, and trade London–New South Wales.
[7] Under the command of Samuel Remington she sailed from Spithead, England, on 21 August 1817, and arrived at Port Jackson on 10 January 1818.
[10] Under the command of William Harrison, Ocean sailed from Portsmouth on 24 April 1823, and arrived at Port Jackson on 27 August 1823.
In late 1828 Ocean, Major, master, carried the missionary William Munro to Sierra Leone, where he died a year or so later.
