Ochoterenaea is a monotypic genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Anacardiaceae.
[2] Its native range is Western South America and it is found in Bolivia, Colombia and Venezuela.
[1] The genus name of Ochoterenaea is in honour of Isaac Ochoterena (1885–1950), a Mexican botanist and histologist.
[3] The Latin specific epithet of colombiana means coming from Colombia, where the plant was found.
Both the genus and the species were first described and published in Bull.
