Oelrichs, South Dakota

Oelrichs (Lakota: šuŋkpȟáwaksa;[6] "Severed Horse Head") is a town in Fall River County, South Dakota, United States.

[8] The town was founded by Henry (Harry) Oelrichs, superintendent of the Anglo-American Cattle Company.

[11] According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.38 square miles (0.98 km2), all land.

The racial makeup of the town was 79.4% White, 18.3% Native American, and 2.4% from two or more races.
