Olari Elts

[1] His conducting mentors included Kuno Areng, Roman Matsov, Paul Mägi, and Eri Klas.

Outside of the Baltic states, Elts made his USA guest-conducting debut with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra in February 2005.

In 2007, Elts became principal guest conductor of the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra.

[2] In September 2023, the orchestra announced the extension of Elts' contract as music director and chief conductor through the 2027-2028 season.

[3] In 2001, Elts was awarded the IVth Class Order of the White Star by Estonia in recognition for his contributions to music.
