Orbeliani Palace

The Orbeliani Palace (Georgian: ორბელიანის სასახლე, romanized: orbelianis sasakhle) or the Atoneli Residence (Georgian: ათონელის რეზიდენცია, romanized: atonelis rezidentsia) is the official residence of the president of Georgia since November 2018.

[1][2][3] It was once home to Elizabeth Orbeliani, a Georgian poet and the country's first female academic.

To this day, a room in the palace dedicated to Elizabeth Orbeliani[5] is used to receive foreign dignitaries.

In 2013, about 25 million Georgian lari was spent renovating the palace.

That palace, which opened in July 2009, was built during the presidency of Mikheil Saakashvili, with whom Zourabichvili had a fallout.
