Farmington Township is on part of the eastern and southern border.

As of the census[5] of 2000, there were 700 people, 268 households, and 192 families residing in the township.

The racial makeup of the township was 97.86% White, 0.57% African American, 0.14% Asian, and 1.43% from two or more races.

22.4% of all households were made up of individuals, and 12.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
