Panther Peak is a 6,418-foot-elevation (1,956-meter) summit in Brewster County, Texas, United States.
Panther Peak is set within Big Bend National Park, the Chihuahuan Desert, and the Chisos Mountains.
[4] Although modest in elevation, topographic relief is significant as the summit rises 2,000 feet (610 m) above the surrounding terrain in one mile (1.6 km).
[5] Any scant precipitation runoff from the mountain's slopes drains northeast to Tornillo Creek which is a tributary of the Rio Grande.
The mountain's toponym was officially adopted on March 9, 1939, by the United States Board on Geographic Names.
