Chesaning Township, Michigan

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 4,861 people, 1,905 households, and 1,377 families residing in the township.

There were 1,992 housing units at an average density of 57.4 per square mile (22.2/km2).

The racial makeup of the township was 97.33% White, 0.25% African American, 0.25% Native American, 0.08% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 1.32% from other races, and 0.76% from two or more races.

24.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
