[1][2][3] It is endemic to Borneo and found in north-eastern[1] and south-western Sarawak (Malaysia) and (likely) in adjacent West Kalimantan (Indonesia).
There line between the darker dorsal parts and the white or cream-coloured belly is quite sharp.
[3] Males have been recorded in submontane and montane mossy forests at an elevation of about 800 m (2,600 ft) above sea level.
[1] The known populations occur in well-protected areas, Gunung Mulu National Park and Lanjak Entimau Wildlife Sanctuary, where the species is not threatened.
However, it is likely to occur more widely and be threatened by habitat loss caused by agriculture and logging.
