Penn Township is located just northeast of the center of Cass County.

[citation needed] As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 1,902 people, 747 households, and 560 families residing in the township.

21.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

Most of Penn Township is zoned to Cassopolis Public Schools.
