Percy Jewson

Percy William Jewson (16 February 1881 – 18 April 1962)[1] was an English businessman and National Liberal politician from Norwich.

He was involved for most of his career with the family's timber importing firm of Jewson and Sons Ltd.[2] During World War I he served in France and Belgium as an officer of the Worcestershire Regiment, and was wounded.

[3] Sir Arthur Harbord, the National Liberal Member of Parliament (MP) for Yarmouth, died in February 1941.

[5][6] He held the seat until the 1945 general election, when he was defeated by the Labour Party candidate Ernest Kinghorn.

[2] As was a doubles player he represented Norfolk in many inter-county championships, and was also successful in many tournaments in East Anglia.
