Peter Zajac (born 3 February 1946) is a Slovak literary critic and politician who served as an MP of the National Council between 1998 and 2001 and again between 2010 and 2012.

In 2020 president Zuzana Čaputová awarded Peter Zajac Ľudovít Štúr Order, 1st class.

[1] Peter Zajac father was a theoretical physicist and his mother was a gynaecologist.

[4] He is currently active as a researcher at the Slovak Academy of Sciences and Professor Emeritus at the Humboldt University of Berlin.

Between 1998 and 2001 he was an MP of the National Council in the Slovak Democratic Coalition caucus.
