Phoberomys insolita

Phoberomys insolita is an extinct species of rodent that was known as the largest rodent on earth, before the discovery of Josephoartigasia monesi.

Fossil specimens from the Late Miocene period have been discovered in the Ituzaingó Formation of Argentina.
