Retiring at the end of 2012, he returned to his former club GKS Katowice, as a youth coach for the player from 1996.
On 24 August 2019, Plewnia was appointed head coach once again after Rumak was fired.
[6] On 17 August 2023, Plewnia was announced as the new manager of I liga side Chrobry Głogów, who at the time were placed bottom of the table, with no points gained in the first four rounds of the 2023–24 season.
