Pius Fidelis Pinto

Pius Fidelis Pinto (born 24 April 1960) is an Indian priest and research scholar of Christianity in Canara, India.

[1] He is noted for his research work and publications on the history of Konkani Christians of Dakshina Kannada then erstwhile South Canara.

[2] Later, he completed his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in History in 1998 from Mysore University.

He has been awarded research scholarships by Fundação Oriente (Lisbon); Charles Wallace Trust (United Kingdom), and University of Basel (Switzerland).

Pinto is fluent in English, Konkani, Kannada, Tulu, Hindi, and can read/write but not speak Portuguese.
