Member State of the Arab League The prime minister of Syria (Arabic: رئيس وزراء سوريا, romanized: Raʾīs wuzarāʾ Sūriyā) is the head of the cabinet of Syria.
[1] Since the fall of the Assad regime, the current prime minister of Syria is the head of the Syrian transitional government.
[2] In normal circumstances and under the constitution of the Syrian Arab Republic,[1] the prime minister is appointed by the president of Syria, along with other ministers and members of the government that the new prime minister recommends.
[4] The Syrian presidency retains the constitutional authority to appoint or remove the prime minister and his Council of Ministers.
[5] With the constitution of Syria being suspended as of December 2024, the prime minister's mode of appointment under the new regime remains to be determined.
