Progreso is a city in Hidalgo County, Texas, United States.

It borders the Mexican town of Nuevo Progreso, formerly known as Las Flores.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.0 square miles (7.8 km2), all land.

As of the 2020 United States census, there were 4,807 people, 1,323 households, and 1,243 families residing in the city.
