The purple-capped fruit dove or Pohnpei fruit dove (Ptilinopus ponapensis), is a species of bird in the family Columbidae found on Chuuk and Pohnpei in the Caroline Islands.
It was formerly considered as a subspecies of the crimson-crowned fruit dove.
