Richwood High School (West Virginia)

Consolidation opponents filed an unsuccessful lawsuit against the Nicholas County Board of Education alleging open meeting laws were violated prior to the vote.

Alternatives were presented at the meeting including comprehensive Grades 6-12 facilities in both Richwood and Summersville to reduce the overall number of schools and allow each community to maintain its autonomy.

Several notable individuals have attended Richwood High School in West Virginia, particularly those who have made contributions in sports, public service, and community leadership.
