Riesel is a city in McLennan County, Texas, United States.
Riesel, one of the original settlers who built a Cotton gin there, has steadily been growing since being settled around 1880–1890.
In early May, 2010, voters approved a $25,000,000 bond for the Riesel Independent School District that would build a new high school, administration building, softball and baseball field amongst other things.
[8][9] According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 4.0 square miles (10 km2), all land.
As of the 2020 United States census, there were 1,062 people, 409 households, and 336 families residing in the city.
