Riverdale, Michigan

Riverdale is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Gratiot County in the U.S. state of Michigan.

[1] Riverdale is centrally located in the state's Lower Peninsula about 16 miles (26 km) south of the city of Mount Pleasant.

[6] Other nearby unincorporated communities include Elm Hall just to the south, Vestaburg to the west, and Elwell to the east.

[7] The 42-mile-long (68 km) Fred Meijer Heartland Trail, which travels from Alma to Greenville, has a trailhead in Riverdale.

The community received a station along the Detroit, Lansing and Northern Railroad, which later became part of the Pere Marquette Railway.

[10] The post office has remained in continuous operation and is located at 6728 North Lumberjack Road in the center of the community.

[16] The Seville Township Library is located in the center of the community at 6734 North Lumberjack Road right next door to the post office.
