The racial makeup of the township was 96.04% White, 0.29% African American, 0.49% Native American, 0.37% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 1.43% from other races, and 1.35% from two or more races.

There were 912 households, out of which 33.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.1% were married couples living together, 7.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.8% were non-families.

19.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
