Robert Coleman (sailor)

Robert Henry Schofield Coleman MC (9 June 1883 – 1 January 1960) was a British sailor who competed in the 1920 Summer Olympics.

[1] Coleman was a crew member of the British boat Ancora, which won the gold medal in the 7 metre class.

[2] Coleman was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the 5th (Territorial Force) Battalion, Essex Regiment, on 15 December 1914.

[3] He married Constance Irene (Connie) Machin on 23 August 1915 in Reigate.

[4] He served in France from November 1915,[5] and was seconded to the 63rd Battalion, Machine Gun Corps, on 23 April 1916.
