P. oris Thomas, 1904[2] Robert's spiny-rat (Proechimys roberti) or Para spiny rat, is a spiny rat species [3] found in Brazil.

This species is named after the collector Alphonso Robert, who collected the holotype of this species in 1901.

[4] Morphological, karyological, and mitochondrial DNA (cytochrome b) data indicate that Proechimys oris is likely a junior synonym of P.
