Rostagnus

Rostagnus is a Latinization of a Germanic given name common in the Middle Ages, especially in Occitania.

It derives from Proto-Germanic *Hrōþi- "fame" and *stainaz "stone".

It is attested in the Old High German form Hruodstein.
