Rudi Vranckx (born 15 December 1959, Leuven) is a Belgian journalist at the VRT NWS reporting on international conflicts in the Middle-East.
During the fierce protests against President Mubarak's regime in Egypt in early 2011, he was one of the last European journalists to stay at the scene.
Afterwards, he and a VRT team visited the cities of Al Bayda and Benghazi in Libya, where a fierce battle had recently raged between supporters and opponents of Moammar al-Qadhafi.
In early 2012 Vranckx was involved in an attack in Syria that cost the life of a fellow French journalist, Gilles Jacquier.
In it he travelled through Iceland, Ireland, Portugal, Spain, Italy and Greece to show the story behind the financial crisis and to look for solutions.
