He attended high school in Feldkirch, and then conducted a commercial apprenticeship at the National Bank of Liechtenstein from 1974 to 1977.

During this time, he was a member of the audit and state committees.

He was also a member of the Liechtenstein delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

[1] Lampert married Margaritha Kaufmann (born 6 April 1953) on 14 May 1982 and they had two children together.

[1] He died of heart failure on 16 July 2021 in Feldkirch, aged 65 years old.
