SMK Bahang offers a wide assortment of prefect roles to students that fit certain criterias, such as having a high sense of confidence, notable self-esteem and their ability to be leaders.

Each prefect role has their standardized colour, which heavily influences the uniform they wear to school.

They help the teachers to maintain the discipline of students in SMK Bahang anytime, especially during recess.

Each year, a Ketua Pelajar from the Pengawas Sekolah are picked as a representative and leading role-model for all students in the school.

They operate inside the BOSS room (Bilik Operasi Skim Pinjaman Buku Teks Sekolah).

On 31 December 2004, SMK Bahang had a tragedy where the highest floor of block A caught on fire.

This shift was evident in 2023 when the sports day took place at the Kompleks Sukan Likas, marking a departure from the usual venue.
