Saenger (crater)

Saenger is an ancient lunar impact crater that lies on the far side of the Moon, just beyond the eastern limb.

[1] To the west-northwest is the crater Erro, and due north lies Moiseev.

The satellite crater Saenger D is adjacent to the interior of the northeastern rim.

In contrast, the interior floor is relatively flat and featureless, with only tiny craterlets to mark the surface.

By convention these features are identified on lunar maps by placing the letter on the side of the crater midpoint that is closest to Saenger.
