Salifou Modi

Salifou Modi (Arabic: ساليفو مودي, romanized: Sālyfw Mwdy; born 12 October 1962) is a Nigerien Army divisional general who is the vice-president[1] of the National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland, the military junta of Niger.

[1] Modi served as a member of the Supreme Council for the Restoration of Democracy from 2010 to 2011[5] and later became the military attaché for Niger in Germany until 2020 when he replaced Corps-General Ahmed Mohamed as Chief of Staff.

His appointment came after a deadly attack by extremists that killed 89 Nigerien soldiers.

[6] Following the 2023 Nigerien coup d'état, he was identified as the vice-president of the National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland.
