Sandeep Verma

[1] At IITK, he heads Sandeep Verma's Research Group[2] in the areas of ordered peptide assemblies, metal-mediated nanoscale systems, programmable soft matter for neuronal regeneration, novel antimicrobials, and small molecule-stem cell modulation.

[6] Born on 24 June 1966, in Kanpur in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, Sandeep Verma did his early schooling in Varanasi and completed his Master's degree at Banaras Hindu University in 1989.

[9] Verma's researches may broadly be classified into four segments: Ordered Peptide Assemblies,[10] Metal-Mediated Systems,[11] New Antimicrobials[12] and Small Molecule Stem Cell Interaction.

[13] He is credited with the synthesis of enzyme mimics using metal-mediated systems and his group is involved in developing bio-inspired soft matter and protocols for using biological building blocks as diagnostic tools for diseases.

Sandeep Verma served as the Secretary of the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) from April 2019 till October 2022.
