Scelotes poensis is a species of small skink endemic to the coastal forests[2] of Bioko,[3][4] such as the regions surrounding Malabo.
[5] The species has also potentially been sighted in the coastal forests of Cameroon.
[6] It is also known as the Fernando Po Burrowing Skink,[7] after the historic name for Bioko.
No physical examples nor images of the species exist.
[8] Furthermore, despite this name, it is debated whether the animal is terrestrial[2] or fossorial.
