Scenic Route (film)

Scenic Route, also known in the UK as Wrecked,[3] is a 2013 American psychological thriller film written by Kyle Killen, directed by Kevin and Michael Goetz, and starring Josh Duhamel and Dan Fogler.

Mitchell is relieved when a motorist stops and offers help, but Carter admits he has sabotaged their truck in order to give them time to reconnect and force a dialogue between them.

The final scene of the film shows Mitchell lying in bed, with images from the desert while a faint cellphone sound is ringing.

[7] Olie Coen of DVD Talk rated it 3/5 stars and said of the leads that "they both held their own in what must have been difficult roles to pull off", though he found the film to be "good, not great".

"[9] Noah Lee of Film Threat rated it 2.5/5 stars and wrote, "It's beautifully shot, has awesome performances from its two leads but just ultimately is marred by its inconsistent storytelling and brutally awful ending.

"[10] Scott Bowles of USA Today rated Scenic Route 3/4 stars and called it gripping but rushed and lacking subtlety.

[11] John DeFore of The Hollywood Reporter said that "the film is less harrowing than it intends to be", though the second half is more successful once it becomes more concerned with survival than a less believable character study.
