Schizophrenia Research Foundation (SCARF) was founded in 1984 with the primary objective of providing quality care and rehabilitation to those suffering from severe mental disorders.

SCARF has a Mental Health Center located in Anna Nagar, Chennai, along with two residential rehabilitation centres at Thiruverkadu and Mahabalipuram.

[1] Tamil Nadu MGR Medical University has approved SCARF as a center for doctoral studies in 'Mental health and Social Sciences'.

The National Board of Examinations (NBE) has accredited SCARF as the centre for post-graduate training for DNB in psychiatry since 2009.

SCARF offers various training and workshop in psychology, social work, nursing and occupational therapy.
