Scottish Police Services Authority

The Scottish Police Services Authority (SPSA) was a public body of the Scottish Government responsible for certain central services for police forces in Scotland.

[1] It was established on 1 April 2007, following the passing of the Police, Public Order and Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 2006.

[3] The authority also controlled central Police services such as Forensics and IT.

With effect from 1 April 2013, the structure of policing in Scotland changed.
