Serhiy Oleksandrovych Mishchenko — is a former president of the Ukrainian Fencing Federation (1993 - 2012), honorary member of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine.
Serhiy Mishchenko has a PhD in economics, and is an author of 20 publications on international statistics, world trade, development of scientific and technical potential.
[3] In 1978, he graduated with honors from the Faculty of International Economic Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
Mishchenko wrote in a letter to the FIE:“Is it fair that through destruction, constant shelling Ukrainian athletes have no opportunity to prepare for competitions and risk their lives, and Russian athletes will calmly compete in the international arena?.”[8]Furthermore, Mishchenko said that he was opposed to neutrality and urged the FIE to follow the International Gymnastics Federation which decided to extend the ban on Russian and Belarusian officials until further notice.
