On November 2, 2012, Vanzant was selected by the Springfield Armor in the fourth round of the 2012 NBA Development League Draft.

[8] He played in 11 games for Springfield between November 24 and December 31 before being deactivated by the team on January 3, 2013, and then waived outright on March 18.
