Sheikh Mamun Khaled

Sheikh Mamun Khaled OSP, SUP is a retired lieutenant general of Bangladesh Army and former commandant of National Defence College.

He is the first foreign recipient who had been awarded a fellowship from the United Service Institution (USI) of India for his great contribution to the Military Leadership.

[9] The Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) mutiny in February 2009 resulted in significant loss of life, including 57 army officers.

In a 2024 interview, he discussed the events surrounding the mutiny, indicating that despite being on the ground during the crisis, decisive action was delayed, leading to increased casualties.

[10] In November 2024, reports surfaced that the interim government of Bangladesh had directed the abrogation of passports for certain military officers allegedly involved in enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings during Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's tenure from 2009 to 2024.
