[3] The population has decreased significantly after the village of Ovid separated from the township and incorporated into a city in 2015.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 3,490 people, 1,225 households, and 927 families residing in the township.

There were 1,279 housing units at an average density of 35.7 per square mile (13.8/km2).

19.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 7.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
