Shovel Mountain is an unincorporated community in Burnet County, Texas, United States.

[1] According to the Handbook of Texas, the community had an estimated population of 98 in 2000.

It then began to decline at the turn of the 20th century.

[2] Shovel Mountain is located three miles west of U.S. Highway 281, 6 mi (9.7 km) south of Marble Falls in southern Burnet County.

[2] Shovel Mountain has been served by the Marble Falls Independent School District since its school joined the ISD in 1949, and was on county maps during that decade.
