Skelding is a civil parish in North Yorkshire, England.
It lies 6 miles (10 km) west of Ripon, on the north bank of the River Skell.
[1] The parish now shares a grouped parish council with the civil parishes of Grantley, Sawley and Eavestone, known as the Grantley, Sawley, Skelding and Eavestone Parish Council.
The name "Skelding" means 'Head of the River Skell valley'.
[3] Skelding was formerly a township in the parish of Ripon,[4] in 1866 Skelding became a separate civil parish.
