In 1990 it joined the Institute of Hospital Engineers,[2] which became the Institute of Hospital Engineering and Estate Management, which is now the Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management.
[3] Those belonging to the organisation were physicists, radiographers, engineers and technicians.
The vast majority of members were Engineers and Technicians engaged in the installation and service of X-ray equipment.
Most of these members were working for the major suppliers of X-ray equipment.
Some Engineers, Technicians, Physicists and Radiographers worked in the NHS or private hospitals.
