Sopwell, County Tipperary

[1] Sopwell is located east of the N52 road between Ballingarry, North Tipperary and Borrisokane.

[2][3][4] The former Sopwell National school built in the 1820s of limestone has been listed as being of architectural, artistic and social interest.

[5] It is also listed as a protected structure by Tipperary County Council (RPS Refs S367).

Coillte supports a local community initiative to improve recreation facilities in Sopwell woods[7] Part of Scohaboy Bog, a raised bog with Natural Heritage Area protection, is located within the townland.
