South Gorin is a city located in Scotland County, Missouri, United States.
[5] The town primarily owes its growth to the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad, which was finishing construction in the area in the 1880s.
A depot was built in the fledgling town, which began to experience steady growth.
The business community featured two banks, two hotels, multiple grocery drug, and hardware stores along with restaurants, a farm implement dealer and factory manufacturing wagons and buggies.
South Gorin is located in southeast Scotland County at the intersection of Missouri Routes A and U approximately two miles northeast of the North Fabius River.
The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad passes through the town.

Amtrak’s Southwest Chief, which operates between Los Angeles and Chicago, passes through the town on BNSF tracks, but makes no stop.
The nearest station is located in La Plata, 49 miles (79 km) to the southwest.
