St. Charles, Virginia

St. Charles is a census-designated place and former town in Lee County, Virginia, United States.

[5] The town was incorporated by the Lee County, Virginia Circuit Court on January 10, 1914.

[6] The community was named for Charles Bondurant, a coal mining official.

[9] The town straddles a narrow hollow along Straight Creek (part of the Powell River watershed), just east of the Kentucky–Virginia state line.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.18 square miles (0.46 km2), all of it land.
