St. John the Baptizer Catholic Church

It is the first Catholic church in Bridgeport, Texas,[1] the current building dates back to 1926, however a congregation was established in 1908.

a small wooden church was then constructed in 1908 on Greathouse Street.

[5] The Church was recognized by Pope John Paul II on October 1, 1989, for serving the parishioners for 100 years, Pope Francis recognized the church in October 2014 on its 125th anniversary.
